How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Governance Support | 12-Month FTC - Telecoms - 12 month FTC

    Greater Reading with flexible working

Are you an experienced electrical telecoms professional with a strong background in design, installation, inspection, testing and certification?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting a large-scale electrical remediation programme across critical national infrastructure — ensuring electrical works are safe, compliant, correctly designed and delivered to the required standards.

    What you'll be doing

    • Reviewing electrical designs, drawings and remedial solutions before works commence
    • Reviewing handover packs following completion of work
    • Assessing completed installations through certification, photographic and video evidence
    • Validating compliance with British Standards, regulations and technical specifications
    • Managing quality assurance, governance and approval processes
    • Identifying defects, challenging non-compliant works and supporting corrective actions
    • Working closely with Electrical, Operations, project teams and delivery partners
    • Supporting the successful delivery of a high-priority electrical remediation programme

    What we're looking for

You'll bring extensive electrical industry experience, alongside strong technical assurance and compliance knowledge gained within the telecoms industry.

    Essential:

    • Proven experience across electrical design, installation, inspection, testing and certification
    • Experience using Modecsoft Electrical OM
    • Strong understanding of current British Standards, electrical regulations and industry best practice
    • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical documentation and certification
    • Experience reviewing electrical installations and validating remedial works
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills

    Essential qualifications

    You must hold:

    • City & Guilds 2396 – Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations
    • City & Guilds 2391 OR 2394/2395 – Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
    • City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2018)

Knowledge of the NICEIC Approved Contractor Scheme and its requirements would be advantageous.

This is a great opportunity for someone who combines hands-on electrical expertise with technical assurance, governance and compliance, and wants to make a direct contribution to the safety and reliability of critical infrastructure.
