How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Company Overview

Potter & Moore is one of the UK's leading beauty and personal care innovators, combining brand ownership, product development expertise and large-scale manufacturing capabilities.

Operating from manufacturing sites in Peterborough and Tiverton, we develop and manufacture over 44 million units annually across skincare, haircare, personal care, wellbeing and baby care categories. Our products are supplied through a diverse business model encompassing owned brands, private label partnerships and contract manufacturing for some of the UK's most recognised retailers and beauty brands.

Our portfolio includes brands such as Emma Hardie, Feather & Down, The Curl Company and Balance Active Formula, alongside long-standing partnerships with leading retail customers across the UK and international markets.

    Role Description

Are you passionate about innovative packaging solutions and sustainability? We're looking for a talented Packaging Technologist to play a key role in developing, testing, and implementing packaging that protects our products, delights our customers, and supports our environmental commitments.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working cross-functionally with procurement, operations, quality, suppliers, and commercial teams to deliver packaging excellence.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and improve packaging solutions across our product portfolio.
    • Manage packaging projects from concept through to launch.
    • Conduct packaging trials, testing, and validation activities.
    • Ensure packaging complies with relevant legislation, customer requirements, and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to identify new materials and innovative packaging opportunities.
    • Support sustainability initiatives, including material reduction and recyclability improvements.
    • Analyse packaging performance, costs, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Create and maintain packaging specifications and technical documentation.

    Candidate Description

    • Experience in a Packaging Technologist, Packaging Development, or similar technical role.
    • Knowledge of packaging materials including corrugate, plastics, films, cartons, and sustainable alternatives.
    • Understanding of packaging testing methodologies and regulatory requirements.
    • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Experience within FMCG, personnel care, food manufacturing, consumer goods, or a related industry is advantageous.
    • Degree or qualification in Packaging Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

Who We Are & How We Work

We're a fast-moving, team-first business where the best idea wins regardless of where it comes from. Hierarchy doesn't slow us down - collaboration does the heavy lifting. People here take full ownership of their work, from the spark of an idea all the way through to results on shelf and numbers on a page. There's no passing the baton and walking away; you see it through, you learn from it, and you make it better next time.

We move quickly and adapt without drama. If a problem needs solving, we solve it — we don't wait for the perfect conditions or the perfect brief. That agility isn't just a working style, it's genuinely how we're structured: flexible in how and where we work, lean enough to make decisions fast, and trusting enough to give talented people real responsibility from day one.

This is a place where curious, driven, solutions-focused people do some of their best work — because they're given the space, the autonomy, and the team around them to make it happen. If you're energised by pace, motivated by ownership, and want to feel the direct impact of your work on a brand you're proud of, you'll fit right in.

    What We Can Offer You

    • Competitive Salary & Benefits: We recognise and reward high performance through a competitive remuneration package including Life Assurance, Employee Assistance Programme and Employee Benefits Platform.
    • Growth & Development Opportunities: Join a business with ambitious growth plans where you can make a visible impact and develop your career.
    • Dynamic Commercial Environment: Work with some of the UK's leading retail partners across multiple categories.
    • Autonomy & Ownership: Enjoy the freedom to shape strategy, influence customer direction and drive commercial success.
    • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside experienced colleagues across Commercial, Product Development, Supply Chain and Operations in a business where teamwork drives results.
