How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You'll play a key role in improving fleet performance, driving efficiencies and supporting frontline teams to deliver excellent services to our customers.

    Introduction to the role

At Chime Housing, we provide vital housing services that help people live better lives. We're looking for a Fleet Manager to lead the effective management of our vehicle fleet, ensuring our frontline repairs and maintenance teams have the resources they need to deliver reliable, high-quality services to customers every day.

    Role purpose

To provide single-point accountability for the safe, compliant and cost-effective management of Chime's repairs and maintenance fleet. The role is responsible for maximising vehicle availability, managing suppliers and contracts, and identifying opportunities to improve performance and value for money.

    What’s the role?

    Key Accountabilities:

    * Manage the performance, availability and utilisation of a fleet of approximately 100 operational vehicles.

    * Coordinate vehicle servicing, MOTs, inspections, repairs and defect management to ensure fleet compliance and roadworthiness.

    * Monitor fleet costs, fuel usage, telematics data and supplier performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenditure.

    * Lead on fleet compliance, accident management, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver measurable operational and financial benefits

    What are we looking for?

    Essential:

    * Experience managing or coordinating an operational vehicle fleet, ideally including light commercial vehicles or vans.

    * Experience working with vehicle maintenance providers, lease companies, hire suppliers or fleet management systems.

    * Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOT requirements, insurance processes and accident management.

    * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret fleet, fuel, telematics and cost data.

    * Experience monitoring budgets, analysing performance and producing management reports.

    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, suppliers and compliance requirements.

    * Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Good IT skills, including experience using spreadsheets, reporting tools and fleet management systems.

    Desirable:

    * Relevant qualification in fleet management, transport, logistics, procurement, health and safety or compliance.

    * Experience within housing, repairs and maintenance, construction, local authority or contractor environments.

    * Knowledge of low-emission vehicles, carbon reduction initiatives and fleet replacement planning.

    * Experience implementing fleet improvement programmes, supplier performance reviews or cost-saving initiatives

    Who you’ll work with

Responsible to: Assistant Director of Repairs and Maintenance

    Department: Operations

    What can we offer you?

    * 28 days’ annual leave (pro rata)

    * Employer pension contribution of up to 11%

    * Development opportunities

    * Comprehensive employee rewards scheme
