How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

    Smart4Sciences is working with a leading healthcare organisation to recruit a QC Stability Lead to join their Quality Control team in Hull.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QC Analyst / Pharmaceutical Analyst looking to take on a lead-level position. You will join a team of 8 analysts, providing technical and troubleshooting support across laboratory equipment, analytical methods and systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to the QC analytical team.
    Support troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, systems and analytical methods.
    Carry out pharmaceutical analysis in accordance with GMP requirements.
    Perform analytical testing using techniques including HPLC, GC and Karl Fischer.
    Provide technical guidance and support to other analysts within the team.
    Assist with analytical method troubleshooting where required.
    Ensure laboratory activities are carried out in accordance with GMP requirements and relevant procedures.
    Work closely with the Head of QC to support the effective technical operation of the laboratory.About you:

    Strong experience within pharmaceutical QC/analytical testing.
    Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC and Karl Fischer.
    Experience working within a GMP-accredited laboratory environment.
    Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    Experience troubleshooting laboratory equipment, systems and analytical methods.
    The confidence to provide technical guidance and support to other analysts.
    Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to laboratory work.
