How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Liaise with contractors, suppliers and external agencies to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

    * Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, fire safety and statutory regulations.

    * Undertake and monitor site inspections, risk assessments and compliance checks.

    * Manage site budgets and maintain accurate records relating to premises and facilities management.

    * Line manage and support the Cleaning Team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness across the school.

    * Coordinate training and development opportunities for premises staff.

    * Support school events and activities where site management assistance is required.

    * Act as a key holder and respond to site emergencies when necessary.

    The Successful Candidate Will Have

    * Previous experience in a site management, facilities management or premises management role.

    * Knowledge of health and safety legislation and building compliance requirements.

    * Experience managing contractors and supervising staff.

    * Strong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.

    * Excellent organisational and communication skills.

    * The ability to prioritise workload and work independently.

    * A flexible and professional approach to supporting the needs of the school.

    We Offer

    * A permanent full-time position within a supportive and forward-thinking school.

    * A positive and welcoming working environment.

    * Opportunities for professional development and training.

    * Well-behaved, enthusiastic pupils who enjoy learning.

    * A committed and friendly staff team.

    * An ongoing programme of investment in school buildings and grounds.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and all other pre-employment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.

To apply, please submit your CV and supporting information via CV-Library. Early applications are encouraged as the school reserves the right to close the vacancy once a suitable candidate has been appointed.
