How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Part-Time Playworker – Breakfast, After School & Holiday Club

    Location: Bicknacre, Essex
    Hours: Monday–Wednesday or Monday–Thursday, all year round
    Contract: Part-time

    Are you energetic, creative and passionate about working with children?

    We are looking for a fun, confident and proactive Playworker to join a welcoming and dedicated children’s club in Bicknacre. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating exciting experiences, building positive relationships and making a real difference to children’s lives.

    The successful Playworker will support children across breakfast club, after-school club and holiday club sessions, helping to create a safe, engaging and enjoyable environment where children can learn, play and build lasting memories.

    The Role

    As a Playworker, you will:

    Support the day-to-day running of breakfast, after-school and holiday club sessions
    Create fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities for children
    Encourage children to participate in games, creative activities, sports and outdoor play
    Build positive and trusting relationships with children
    Support children’s wellbeing, development and individual needs
    Ensure children are supervised and kept safe at all times
    Follow safeguarding, health and safety and club policies
    Help create a welcoming, inclusive and positive environment
    Support with school collections and transport during term time
    About You

    We are looking for someone who is:

    Passionate about working with children
    Fun, enthusiastic and full of energy
    Confident and proactive
    Creative and able to bring new ideas and activities to the club
    Reliable, responsible and well organised
    A positive role model for children
    Able to work effectively as part of a team
    Previous experience working with children is desirable
    Essential Requirements

    Full UK driving licence
    Access to your own car, as you will be required to collect and transport children from local schools during term time
    Previous experience working with children is desirable
    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
