How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Assembly & Test Technician – Permanent

    Location: Great Gransden, Bedfordshire
    Pay: £16.00–£20.00 per hour
    Contract: Permanent
    Overtime: Available and paid at 1.5x

    We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Assembly & Test Technician to join a well-established engineering manufacturer in Great Gransden.

    This is a factory-based role involving complete machine wiring, electrical testing and fault-finding on bespoke industrial machinery.

    The Role

    * Wire complete electrical systems across industrial machinery

    * Connect sensors, motors, actuators and electrical interconnects

    * Carry out functional testing and I/O checks

    * Perform electrical fault-finding during machine build and test

    * Read electrical schematics, layout drawings and BOMs

    * Work with control devices, drives, sensors and motors

    * Support machinery installations and electrical improvement projects

    * Assist with general factory electrical work where required

    What We're Looking For

    * Experience in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly

    * Confident reading electrical drawings and wiring documentation

    * Experience with control devices, sensors, motors and drives

    * Understanding of DOL and VFD configurations

    * Good electrical testing and fault-finding skills

    * High standard of workmanship and attention to detail

    * Electrical installation experience desirable

    * 18th Edition or equivalent qualification advantageous

    * PLC/HMI or industrial automation experience beneficial

    Working Hours

    39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

    * Monday: 7:30am – 4:00pm

    * Tuesday: 7:30am – 4:30pm

    * Wednesday: 7:30am – 5:00pm

    * Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm

    * Friday: 7:30am – 12:00 noon

    Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5x the standard hourly rate.
