How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Control Panel Builder – Permanent

    Location: Great Gransden, Bedfordshire
    Pay: £16.00–£18.00 per hour
    Contract: Permanent
    Overtime: Available and paid at 1.5x

    We are recruiting for an experienced Control Panel Builder to join a well-established engineering manufacturer in Great Gransden.

    This is a factory-based role building and wiring bespoke electrical control panels for industrial machinery.

    The Role

    * Build and wire low-voltage control panels

    * Work with 110–600V AC and 24V DC systems

    * Read EPLAN electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

    * Install relays, contactors, inverter drives, soft starters, PLCs and HMIs

    * Work with Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley and Siemens systems

    * Carry out crimping, ferrule termination and cable routing

    * Perform continuity testing and basic functional checks

    What We're Looking For

    * Minimum 4 years' electrical panel building experience

    * Confident reading electrical schematics and layout drawings

    * Experience with AC and DC control systems

    * High standard of electrical wiring and workmanship

    * Electrical qualifications or apprenticeship desirable

    * EPLAN or industrial automation experience advantageous

    Working Hours

    39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

    * Monday: 7:30am – 4:00pm

    * Tuesday: 7:30am – 4:30pm

    * Wednesday: 7:30am – 5:00pm

    * Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm

    * Friday: 7:30am – 12:00 noon

    Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5x the standard hourly rate.
