How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established construction and development business delivering large-scale residential projects, who are looking to appoint an experienced Document Controller / Information Management professional to join their team.

This is a technical Document Control position, with a strong emphasis on digital systems, information management, document workflows and software.

We are not looking for a traditional administration-focused Document Controller. The successful candidate will need to have substantial hands-on experience managing project information through digital platforms and be confident in implementing, managing and improving document control processes.

Construction experience is useful, but strong software and document control experience is the priority.

    The Role

You will be responsible for managing project information throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring information is correctly controlled, structured, distributed and maintained.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    * Managing all project documentation through Viewpoint for Projects (VfP), including naming conventions, version control and structured filing.

    * Managing site-based information capture through Field View.

    * Controlling document workflows, reviews, approvals and transmittals.

    * Ensuring project information complies with agreed protocols and information management standards.

    * Monitoring document workflows and outstanding submissions to ensure information is available when required.

    * Producing reports covering document status, overdue actions, compliance and information management.

    * Supporting project audits, quality checks and handover documentation.

    * Providing guidance, training and day-to-day support to project teams using document control systems.

    * Working closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients to maintain effective information flow.

    * Helping to develop and improve digital document control processes across projects.

    * Maintaining data integrity, confidentiality and consistent information management practices.

    About You

We are looking for someone who has genuine technical Document Control / Information Management experience, rather than someone whose background is predominantly general administration.

    You should have:

    * Strong experience using Viewpoint for Projects (VfP) – essential.

    * Excellent understanding of document control processes, workflows and version control.

    * Strong IT and digital systems capability.

    * Experience working with CDEs / information management platforms.

    * Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

    * A good understanding of ISO 19650 information management principles.

    * Experience managing documentation across complex projects or multiple stakeholders.

    * Confidence supporting and training colleagues in the use of digital systems.

    * Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to information management.

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams.

Experience with Field View would be highly desirable, along with exposure to other CDE platforms such as SharePoint, Asite or Aconex.

    Important

This is not a traditional administration role.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate substantial hands-on experience with document control software, CDEs, digital information management and document workflows.

We would consider candidates from outside the construction sector where they can demonstrate the required level of technical Document Control and Information Management experience.

If you are an experienced Document Controller, Information Manager, Document Management Specialist or CDE Specialist with strong technical software experience and are looking for an opportunity to take ownership of information management within a growing construction business, we would like to hear from you
