How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Stride Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Engineer to work across multiple commercial sites within the Gloucester and Wiltshire counties, covering planned and reactive building maintenance on a permanent basis.

    - Mobile Maintenance Engineer – Mobile role covering Gloucester and Wiltshire

    - Full time – Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week between 8:00am and 5:00pm

    - Salary: Between £32,000 and £34,000 basic + standby and overtime payments

    - Company Van + Fuel Card provided

    Core Requirements:

    As the Mobile Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a number of sites. The role is highly varied and will involve general building fabric maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, light electrical works, decorating and general repairs.

    The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently across multiple sites while maintaining a professional approach to customers and colleagues.

    Main Accountabilities:

    *

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of sites.

    *

    Complete general building fabric repairs including doors, frames, locks, skirting, boxing, cabinets and wall-based units.

    *

    Carry out plumbing repairs including taps, washers, TMVs and replacement pipework.

    *

    Respond to reactive breakdowns and carry out fault finding and necessary repairs.

    *

    Maintain a high standard of Health & Safety and customer service at all times.

    *

    Participate in an out-of-hours emergency and make-safe call-out rota, approximately one week in every four.

    What you will need for the role:

    *

    Good all-round technical ability and previous experience in building maintenance or facilities management.

    *

    Practical experience across areas such as carpentry, plumbing and basic electrical works.

    *

    Previous commercial maintenance experience is required.

    *

    Experience working across multiple sites would be advantageous.

    *

    Good Health & Safety awareness.

    *

    Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

    *

    The ability to multi-task and work methodically.

    *

    A proactive approach to problem solving.

    *

    Full UK manual driving licence required.

    *

    No more than 6 points on your licence and no driving ban within the past 5 years.

    *

    Willingness to complete a Standard DBS check.
