How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the CRM system.

    * Monitor the sales pipeline and provide regular updates and forecasts to management.

    * Produce sales reports and highlight opportunities, risks and recommended actions.

    * Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the company's products, applications and target markets.

    * Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered effectively.

    * Attend customer meetings, exhibitions, conferences and trade shows in the UK and internationally.

    * Keep up to date with developments within the relevant scientific, engineering and technology markets.

    The Candidate
Previous experience within technical sales, ideally selling scientific, laboratory, engineering or instrumentation products.

2+ years' experience within a technical/scientific sales environment.

A proven track record of selling complex technical products or solutions.

Experience managing international customers and/or distributors would be advantageous.

Degree qualified in Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Strong technical understanding with the ability to confidently discuss products.

Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline.

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Commercially aware with a strong focus on winning new business and growing existing accounts.

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and opportunities simultaneously.

Self-motivated and comfortable working within a small, fast-moving team.

    Full UK driving licence.

Right to work in the UK.

Willingness to travel internationally, with approximately 20% travel expected.
