How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    PCB & Cable Solderer / Assembler

    Location: Ringwood, Hampshire
    Job Type: Temporary Contract Initially
    Salary:£13.50 - £14.00 per hour, depending on experience
    Hours:Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm

    We are recruiting for a PCB & Cable Solderer / Assembler to join , a specialist engineering company based in Ringwood, Hampshire.

    The company specialises in railway and rolling stock maintenance equipment and has expanded its in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities, including assembly and the manufacture of equipment for the rail industry.

    The Role

    Working within the engineering and assembly team, your duties will include:

    Soldering components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).
    Soldering and terminating wires and cables.
    Assembling electronic and electrical components for control panels.
    Cutting, preparing and terminating wires to the required specifications.
    Carrying out basic cable and wiring assembly.
    Working from drawings, wiring information and assembly instructions.
    Checking completed work to ensure a high standard of quality.
    Identifying and reporting any assembly or component issues.
    Using hand tools and soldering equipment safely and accurately.
    Supporting the assembly of control panels and other rail-related equipment.
    Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who has:

    Previous PCB soldering and/or cable soldering experience.
    Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
    Excellent attention to detail.
    The ability to carry out accurate and consistent soldering work.
    Some experience of electrical or electronic assembly would be advantageous.
    The ability to follow drawings, diagrams or work instructions.
    A reliable and positive attitude.
    The ability to work independently and as part of a small engineering team.
    Applications are welcome from candidates with different levels of soldering experience, including those who have developed their skills within electronics manufacturing, cable assembly, control panel production or a similar environment.
