How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Heat Pump Engineer (Progression to Senior)

    Field-Based - Covering Cambridgeshire

    £45,000 - £55,000 + Van + Progression to Senior Level + Private Healthcare + Overtime + Pension + Holiday

    Are you a Plumbing and Heating Engineer with air source heat pump installation experience who is looking for long-term progression to senior level?

    Do you want to join a small, close-knit business with a genuine family feel, where there are no targets and you are trusted to do your job well?

    This is a growing renewables and building services specialist working across domestic and commercial projects in Cambridgeshire. They have built a strong reputation in the area through their levels of service, expanding steadily into heat pumps, solar and air conditioning.

    In this role you will install air source heat pumps on mainly domestic and some commercial projects, working within a 40-50-mile radius of Cambridgeshire with no London work. Longer term, you will be able to progress to senior level as the company pushes further into the commercial market.

    The successful candidate will be a Plumbing and Heating Engineer with hands-on air source heat pump installation experience and a full UK driving licence. You will have a strong customer-facing manner, be happy managing your own workload and be the type of person who goes the extra mile.

    This is a rare opportunity for a Heat Pump Engineer to join a business where nobody leaves, the culture is genuinely people-first, and there is a clear route to senior level as the company grows.

    The Role:

    * Installation of air source heat pumps across domestic and some commercial projects
    * 40-50 mile radius of Cambridgeshire, no London work
    * Managing your own jobs with full autonomy
    * Clear progression to senior level as the business expands into commercial
    * 8-hour days from 7:30/8am, overtime paid at time and a half, company van and fuel

    The Person:

    * Plumbing and Heating Engineer background
    * Air source heat pump installation experience
    * Strong customer service and able to work autonomously
    * Full UK driving licence and living within a commutable distance of Cambridgeshire
