How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for 2 Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Leads to join their Engineering team at their manufacturing facility in Greatham, Hartlepool, please see details below;
      
    Job Purpose:
    The I&E Lead is responsible for leading and developing the site Instrument and Electrical maintenance team while ensuring the safe, compliant and reliable operation of plant assets.
    The role combines maintenance planning and frontline technical execution, with approximately 60% of time focused on planning, coordination and work preparation activities and 40% dedicated to hands-on inspection, testing, maintenance, fault finding, commissioning and reliability improvement activities.
    The position plays a key role in improving asset performance, reducing plant downtime, supporting statutory compliance and delivering safe and effective maintenance execution.
      
    Roles and Responsibilities:
    ◆ Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, coach and develop a team of I&E Technicians, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site standards and priorities.
    ◆ Maintenance Planning & Work Management: Develop detailed, executable maintenance plans and SAP work orders, defining scope, labour, materials, specialist services, isolations, test equipment and contractor requirements to ensure high-quality work preparation and efficient execution.
    ◆ Maintenance Execution: Undertake and support planned and emergent electrical, instrumentation and control maintenance activities, including fault diagnosis, testing, calibration, commissioning and troubleshooting of plant equipment and control systems.
    ◆ Shutdown & Outage Support: Lead planning and delivery of I&E activities during shutdowns and major outages, ensuring resources, materials and contractor requirements are effectively coordinated.
    ◆ Reliability & Continuous Improvement: Drive reliability improvements through defect elimination, root cause investigations, maintenance strategy reviews and identification of opportunities to reduce reactive maintenance and improve asset performance.
    ◆ Safety, Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work complies with site EHSQ requirements, permit-to-work procedures, electrical safety standards, hazardous area requirements, statutory inspections and COMAH obligations.
    ◆ Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination: Coordinate activities with Operations, Engineering, Stores, Contractors and Vendors to ensure maintenance work is safely planned, resourced and delivered with minimal disruption to production.
      
    Experience and Qualifications:

    Essential

    HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Engineering or a related discipline.
    Significant experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within a chemical, process, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
    Experience leading technicians or holding supervisory responsibility within a maintenance environment.
    Strong working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
    Experience using SAP PM or equivalent maintenance management systems.
    Strong fault-finding, testing and commissioning capability.
    Knowledge of safe systems of work, permit-to-work and statutory compliance requirements. Desirable

    COMAH site experience.
    Experience with DeltaV, MOD300 or equivalent control systems.
    Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) knowledge.
    CompEx, HV/LV Authorisation or related specialist qualifications.
    Shutdown and turnaround planning experience.
