How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Member Engagement and Advocacy Manager – Maternity Cover

    Salary: £50,000 - £53,000 per annum depending on experience

    Fixed-Term Contract for up to 12 months (Maternity Cover)

    Full time - 35 hours per week

    Job Role Overview

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Member Engagement and Advocacy Manager to join our Influence and Advocacy team on a Maternity cover basis.

    The successful candidate will contribute to improved membership retention through targeted face-to-face (in-person or digital) and verbal campaigns and initiatives.

    You will strengthen APM’s influence and advocacy by engaging and mobilising members, Fellows, students and early-career professionals as ambassadors for the profession. The role leads targeted, insight-driven engagement programmes that improve retention and support the organisation’s wider policy and thought leadership objectives.

    Experience and knowledge

    • Experience in membership recruitment and retention activity

    • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, able to communicate effectively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and at all levels

    • Experience of using and reporting in CRM systems

    • Business and financial acumen

    • Commercial awareness

    Skills

    • Excellent relationship management skills

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

    • Excellent PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM tools

    • Ability to analyse data
