How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Permitting Coordinator
    £35,000 - £37,000 + Training & Development + Benefits
    Slough - Fully Office Bases

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Permitting Coordinator to join an expanding highways contractor where you will join a thriving business who will invest in personal development and learning within a business who genuinely care.

    Are you experienced in highways, utilities, construction or street works? Do you have experience producing permits and managing works notices? Do you want to join a stable well-run business, with a great company culture?

    You'll be responsible for managing permit applications, works notices and road space bookings, ensuring projects remain compliant and on programme. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, Local Authorities and third
    parties, while maintaining accurate records and reporting on key performance data.

    The ideal candidate will have experience within highways, utilities, construction or street works, with previous permitting experience essential. Street Manager experience would be highly beneficial, alongside strong communication and organisational skills.

    Responsibilities
    * Managing permits and works notices
    * Booking Road space and liaising with Local Authorities

    Requirements
    * Previous experience producing and managing permits
    * Highways, utilities, construction or street works experience
    * Strong communication and organisational skills
    * Confident, calm and able to manage multiple deadlines
