How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Head of Services (UK) - Marine / Engineering Services Transformation

    The opportunity

A globally-backed marine services business is expanding its UK presence following the acquisition of an established Southampton-based engineering services provider. This is a standout opportunity for a senior leader to take ownership of a growing UK operation and shape it into a high-performing, integrated services organisation-covering commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, warranty support and life-extension across vessels and onboard systems.

    The role

As Head of Services (UK), you'll lead the organisation through its next phase of growth, with full responsibility for business performance, operational delivery, key customer relationships and organisational development. Reporting into a European services leadership structure, you'll be primarily based from Southampton and will combine strategic direction with visible, hands-on leadership.

    Key responsibilities

    You will:

Lead and further develop the UK services organisation
Drive the successful integration of the newly acquired business into a single, scalable operation
Deliver safe, efficient and profitable service delivery (multi-discipline engineering environment)
Develop customer relationships and support business growth
Lead a team of approximately 40 employees, managing through a leadership team
Own operational performance and contribute directly to financial results
Build a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
Represent the business within the UK maritime market

    Skills & experience

Senior leadership experience within maritime, offshore, engineering or technical services
Strong commercial awareness and business development capability
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams
Track record of delivering organisational change, growth and/or post-acquisition integration
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to balance strategic leadership with a practical, delivery-focused approach
Technical education and/or strong relevant industry experience
    Fluent in English
No sponsorship available (right to work required)

    About you

You're an authentic, visible leader who builds strong teams, develops people, and creates momentum. You bring commercial thinking and operational discipline, and you enjoy uniting different functions behind a shared plan-especially in environments undergoing transformation
