Consultant Social Worker (CSW) – Child Looked After Service
Lambeth | £40.18 per hour (Umbrella)
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Social Worker (CSW) to join Lambeth’s Child Looked After Service, supporting a hub of five participants training to become social workers through the Frontline / Approach programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced children’s social worker who wants to remain in frontline practice while developing their supervision, leadership and practice education skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support a hub of five social work participants.
* Model high-quality practice and support participants as they gradually take on responsibility for cases.
* Work with looked-after children and their families using a systemic practice approach.
* Facilitate weekly hub meetings, providing reflective learning and case discussion.
* Provide effective supervision, guidance and constructive feedback to participants.
* Maintain accurate case records and produce high-quality reports and updates.
* Apply relevant children’s social care legislation, statutory guidance and national policy.
* Use data and evidence to inform professional judgement and decision-making.
* Contribute to the development of participants’ social work knowledge, skills and professional practice.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* A recognised Social Work qualification with at least 2 years post-qualified experience.
* Current Social Work England registration.
* Experience working with children and families, ideally within Looked After Children services.
* Strong knowledge of children’s social care legislation and statutory frameworks.
* Excellent communication, report-writing, recording and presentation skills.
* The ability to use evidence and data to inform practice.
* A commitment to reflective, systemic and relationship-based practice.
* An interest in developing practice education, supervision and leadership skills.
