How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Electronics Design Engineer
    Location: Littlehampton, West Sussex
    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE + annual bonus
    Design. Develop. Innovate.
Are you an experienced Electronics Design Engineer looking for more ownership, more variety and the chance to see your designs become real products?
We’re looking for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join a growing, multi-disciplinary engineering team working on exciting projects across sectors including MedTech, life sciences, industrial technology, instrumentation, consumer electronics, rail and aerospace.
This is a genuinely hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to take products from initial concept through design, prototyping, testing and into manufacture.
    The Role
You’ll be a key technical contributor, working across a variety of challenging projects and collaborating with engineers from electronics, software, mechanical design, manufacturing and compliance.
You’ll have the freedom to make technical decisions, take ownership of projects and act as a technical lead — while remaining close to the engineering and design work.
    What You’ll Be Doing
    * Design and develop electronic circuits, systems and products.
    * Create schematics and multi-layer PCB designs.
    * Define product architectures and develop technical solutions from customer requirements.
    * Make key decisions around components, system architecture, interfaces, power and communications.
    * Take designs from concept → prototype → debugging → testing → manufacture.
    * Troubleshoot complex electronic and system-level problems.
    * Support design verification and validation through analysis and practical testing.
    * Ensure designs meet relevant EMC, safety, regulatory and technical requirements.
    * Produce clear, accurate technical documentation and design review material.
    * Take technical ownership of projects or major workstreams.
    * Work directly with customers through technical meetings, design reviews and problem-solving discussions.
    * Collaborate with software, mechanical, manufacturing and compliance teams.
    * Manage your own workload across multiple projects while delivering to agreed timescales and quality standards.
    * Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
    What We’re Looking For
    You’ll ideally have:
    * 4+ years’ commercial experience in electronics design and development.
    * A degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
    * Proven experience taking electronics from concept through to working prototype and/or production.
    * Strong knowledge of electronic circuit design and product architecture.
    * Experience designing digital systems using microcontrollers, processors and digital communications.
    * Experience with schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design using Altium Designer, KiCad or similar.
    * Strong debugging, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
    * The ability to translate system requirements into practical engineering solutions.
    * Strong technical documentation and design review skills.
    * The confidence to work independently, take ownership and make sound engineering decisions.
    Your Experience Could Include
Experience in any of the following would be a real advantage:
    - Wireless technologies / IoT
    - Analogue and mixed-signal electronics
    - Power electronics
    - High-speed digital design
    - EMC and product compliance
    - Regulatory requirements
    Why Join?
This is a great opportunity to move beyond simply designing circuits and become a key technical voice within a growing engineering environment.
You’ll work on varied projects, solve genuinely interesting technical problems and see your designs progress from an idea on a screen to a working product in the real world.
You’ll also have the opportunity to:
    * Work across multiple industries and technologies.
    * Take genuine ownership of technical projects.
    * Develop your career and technical expertise.
    * Mentor and support other engineers.
    * Collaborate with experienced electronics, software, mechanical and compliance specialists.
    * Work on products from initial concept through to manufacture.
    Benefits
    - Competitive salary of £40,000 – £45,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
    - Annual bonus scheme.
    - Comprehensive benefits package.
    - Professional development and progression opportunities.
    - Cycle-to-work scheme.
    - EV salary sacrifice scheme.
    - Primarily site-based working with one day per week available from home.
    Ready for Your Next Challenge?
If you're an experienced electronics engineer who wants more variety, more ownership and the opportunity to see your designs come to life, this could be the next step in your career.
