How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Registered Manager – Children's Residential Care

    Diamond Search Recruitment is delighted to be representing a newly established children's residential care provider in the appointment of an experienced and passionate Registered Manager.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious care professional to take a key leadership role within a 2-bed EBD children's residential provision, helping to establish and develop a high-quality service where children and young people are supported to thrive.

    Our client is backed by an experienced Responsible Individual with a strong background within the care sector, alongside robust financial and legal support.     The Role

    As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

    You will be responsible for creating a positive culture within the home, leading and developing your team, and ensuring the service is consistently delivering excellent outcomes for the children and young people in your care.

    A key objective will be to achieve and maintain an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management and operation of the home.

    *

    Ensure the home operates in accordance with its Statement of Purpose and Function.

    *

    Work towards achieving and maintaining an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding.

    *

    Utilise the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF) and internal auditing processes to monitor, maintain and improve standards.

    *

    Ensure the home complies with all relevant legislation, regulations, local authority procedures and company policies.

    *

    Provide effective supervision, support, leadership and direction to staff.

    *

    Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing and motivated team.

    *

    Act as a positive role model, demonstrating integrity, optimism, hope, determination and compassion.

    *

    Ensure the physical and emotional needs of children and young people are protected, safeguarded and promoted at all times.

    *

    Ensure individual care, education and risk management plans are implemented effectively.

    *

    Ensure appropriate and effective staffing is maintained at all times, taking into account the individual needs and risk management plans of each child.

    *

    Monitor and improve the performance of the home and its staff to ensure excellent standards of care.

    *

    Make informed decisions, provide clear direction and lead by example.

    *

    Manage resources and budgets effectively.

    *

    Build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, local authorities and other external stakeholders.

    *

    Ensure effective safeguarding practices are embedded throughout the home.

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager or experienced children's residential care professional who is ready to take ownership of a new service and make a genuine difference.

    You will ideally have:

    *

    Experience within children's residential care, including supervisory or management experience.

    *

    Strong knowledge of children's social care legislation and regulatory requirements.

    *

    Knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023.

    *

    The ability to effectively manage a children's residential home, including staffing, supervision, performance and operational oversight.

    *

    Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

    *

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    *

    The ability to develop strong relationships with children, families, staff and external professionals.

    *

    Experience of managing and improving performance.

    *

    The ability to oversee budgets and resources effectively.

    *

    Confidence in managing challenging situations and resolving conflict.

    *

    High levels of resilience, organisation and professionalism.

    *

    Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management, or willingness to work towards the qualification.

    *

    Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification, or willingness to work towards it.

    *

    Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and maintain the required registration.

    Salary & Benefits

    £45,000 – £50,000 per annum + Performance-Related Pay

    In addition, there is an attractive bonus structure:

    £1,500 Ofsted Good bonus

    £2,500 Ofsted Outstanding bonus

    Plus further bonuses—details on request

    Bonuses are payable following publication of the relevant Ofsted inspection report.

    To qualify for the Ofsted and placement bonuses, the Registered Manager must have been resident in the home for more than six months.
