How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment.
Working across operations, supply chain and design engineering, you will provide manufacturing engineering expertise across both existing and new products. You will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction and driving Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
This is a hands-on engineering role offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost and delivery.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Work closely with manufacturing cell leaders, Lean teams and design engineering to improve process efficiency.
    * Develop, implement and maintain Standard Work and manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, routings and visual factory standards.
    * Create and maintain manufacturing routings within an MRP/ERP system.
    * Implement Lean manufacturing techniques such as one-piece flow, visual management and balanced assembly lines.
    * Apply improvement methodologies including 5S, 7 Wastes, Standardised Work and Visual Management.
    * Identify and implement manufacturing layout improvements, working closely with facilities and maintenance teams.
    * Support manufacturing teams with the collection and analysis of production data, identifying key areas for improvement.
    * Establish product cycle times and monitor actual performance against agreed standards.
    * Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing labour content, waste, rework and production lead times.
    * Lead or support Continuous Improvement, process improvement and CAPEX projects associated with new products and processes.
    * Work with engineering teams on product documentation changes, engineering changes and parts obsolescence.
    * Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support to production, including concessions, non-conformances, engineering changes and material review activities.
    * Develop and optimise cost-effective manufacturing processes for new product introductions.
    * Lead and contribute to Process FMEA (PFMEA) development and implementation.
    * Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and support products throughout their manufacturing lifecycle.
    * Support the introduction of new products into production and the transition from development into full manufacturing.
    * Mentor and support manufacturing cell leaders in improving assembly and test methods.
    * Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
About You The successful candidate will have:
    - Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role or similar position.
    - Previous experience in New Product Introduction (NPI).
    - Experience implementing Standard Work and structured manufacturing processes.
    - A proven track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing within an industrial environment.
    - Strong experience developing and maintaining process maps, PFMEAs and control plans.
    - Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
    - Experience using structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa and 8D.
    - Significant technical and problem-solving experience within an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
    - Experience planning and managing complex, long-term engineering or improvement projects.
    - Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
    - Experience within aerospace, automotive or a closely related manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
    - Knowledge and practical experience of ERP/MRP systems.
    - A sound understanding of manufacturing process control techniques, including Gauge R&R, Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
    - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail.
    - The ability to work effectively within a cross-functional/concurrent engineering environment.
    - Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to communicate at different levels of an organisation.
    - A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to take ownership and work independently.
    - Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work to demanding deadlines.
    - Leadership qualities and the ability to influence and motivate others.
    - A flexible approach and willingness to learn and develop.
AI & Digital Skills You should be comfortable using AI and digital tools to improve productivity, decision-making, quality and cost efficiency.
The successful candidate will be expected to identify appropriate opportunities for AI-assisted improvement while applying sound judgement when reviewing and validating AI-generated information.
What You'll Bring This role would suit a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys working at the interface between engineering and production, solving practical manufacturing problems and delivering measurable improvements.
You will have the opportunity to influence processes from new product introduction through to ongoing production, while contributing to Lean transformation, cost reduction, quality improvement and manufacturing efficiency
