How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary environment where cost management is integrated with wider project and property services, giving you the opportunity to build strong client relationships and contribute to some of the region’s most significant development and construction programmes.

    The Role

Provide senior leadership across a portfolio of cost management commissions.

Lead and oversee cost management services from feasibility and concept through to completion.

Provide strategic commercial and cost advice to clients, project teams and senior stakeholders.

Lead the preparation and review of cost plans, estimates, financial reports and feasibility studies.

Advise clients on procurement strategies and lead tender and procurement processes.

Oversee contract administration, valuations, variations, change control and final accounts.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

Identify and develop new business opportunities, contributing to the growth strategy for the Bristol Property team.

Lead bids, fee proposals and presentations where required.

Mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors and wider project team members.

Work collaboratively with project management, programme management, building surveying and other specialist teams across the business.

Contribute to the strategic development and continued growth of the regional Property offering.

    About You

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.

MRICS qualified with substantial post-qualification consultancy experience.

Strong track record of delivering cost management services across property and construction projects.

Experience across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, healthcare or public sector.

Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

Proven ability to lead projects, teams and client commissions.

Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of procurement, contracts and cost management.

Experience contributing to business development, bids and winning work.

Confident operating at senior level within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.

A natural leader with the ambition to contribute to the continued growth of a regional team.

    What’s on Offer

    £75,000 - £85,000, dependent on experience.

    Annual bonus opportunity.

    Private healthcare.

    Enhanced pension contribution.

    Hybrid and flexible working.

Clear progression opportunities within a global consultancy.

Leadership responsibility within a growing Bristol Property team.

Exposure to major clients and complex, high-profile projects.

Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.

The chance to play a significant role in growing the regional cost management and Property offering.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Associate Director-level Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team and have genuine influence over client relationships, project delivery, people development and the future direction of the Bristol Property business.
