TeacherActive is proud to be working with supportive secondary schools across South Gloucestershire who are looking to appoint confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors. The schools provide positive learning environments where staff are supported to develop their classroom experience and build strong relationships with students.
The schools are looking for Cover Supervisors to work on a full-time basis from September, delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain engaged with their learning. For Teaching Assistants and Sports Coaches looking to progress into teaching, becoming a Cover Supervisor is a great stepping stone, and full training will be provided for candidates wishing to take the next step into a Cover Supervisor role.
The successful Cover Supervisor will have:
• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally as a Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach or within another educational setting
• Confidence working with groups of young people and leading classroom activities
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to manage behaviour and create a positive learning environment
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and school staff
• A proactive, adaptable approach and genuine enthusiasm for progressing within education
