How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

From grid modernisation and digital substations to renewable energy integration, you'll help shape the future of a smarter, more sustainable power network.

As our Senior Control Engineer, you will:

Lead the design and delivery of control and automation solutions for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
Provide technical leadership across projects, supporting and mentoring engineers within the team.
Develop and review Functional Design Specifications and detailed system designs.
Configure and integrate SCADA, automation and communication systems.
Lead customer Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities.
Ensure technical compliance with customer specifications, industry standards and project requirements.
Support bid and proposal activities by providing technical expertise during the pre-sales phase.
Act as the technical focal point for project stakeholders, customers and internal delivery teams.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What skills and experience you will bring to the role:

Experience in control systems, automation, SCADA or power systems engineering.
A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and/or experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
    Desirable:

Experience in a similar role involving developing medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems and communication infrastructure.
Good understanding of the Circuit Diagrams / Wiring Diagrams and General Arrangement drawings on control and protection systems.
Desire to technically lead on allocated projects and develop engineers for the expanding team.
Please note the successful candidate will be required to obtain UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance.

    What can we offer?

Performance-Based Bonus : Enjoy an annual bonus linked to the company's performance
Flexible Working Hours: Achieve a healthy work-life balance with our flexible working arrangements
Pension Plan: Secure your future with our generous pension scheme, with employer contributions up to 10%.
Time Off: Recharge and rejuvenate with 26 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), and the option to buy or sell an additional 5 days!
Industry-Leading Projects & Development: Work on critical energy infrastructure projects, using Siemens' cutting-edge technologies while advancing your technical and leadership career.
    Why Join Siemens Smart Infrastructure?
This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of the UK's energy transition. Our Electrification & Automation business delivers cutting-edge control, SCADA, automation and digitalisation solutions across electricity transmission and distribution networks.
