How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    This Production Manager role offers the opportunity to spearhead significant transformation, adding real value to a site and organisation. Additionally, we are looking for a candidate that in time has the potential to progress into a Site Leader position, with support and development provided by the company.

    This Production Manager position is with a world-leading chemical manufacturer, looking to add to their experienced and dynamic team on their COMAH-regulated site in the South Yorkshire area.

    Salary and Benefits of the Production Manager

    Annual Salary of £70,000-£75,000
    Annual Bonus up to 7.5%
    Up to 14% Employer Pension Contribution

    Key Responsibilities as the Production Manager:

    Driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and logistics, identifying opportunities to optimise processes, waste and inventory.
    Being the fulcrum between business and site strategy, communicating and leading effectively across multifunctional teams.
    Supporting EHS in controlling risks associated with operating a COMAH chemical manufacturing site.
    Collaborating cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, HSE and other manufacturing disciplines.
    Reviewing and managing manufacturing performance, ensuring delivery of manufacturing plans.
    Essential Skills and Experience Needed of the Production Manager

    Ideally a degree, HND or HNC in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline (Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry etc).
    Experience working on a COMAH site is preferred, but not essential.
    Knowledge of Continuous Improvement techniques would be ideal, such as Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen.
    Ideally some experience of delivering change or transformation within a manufacturing or complex production environment would put candidate's at an advantage.
