How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Leeds, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of machinery and equipment in an industrial and manufacturing setting.

    This is a hands-on role which involves maintaining, repairing, and improving production systems to keep operations efficient and reliable.

    Description

    Duties will include;

    Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
    Diagnosing and repairing faults to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
    Performing routine inspections to ensure all machinery and systems are in good working order.
    Working collaboratively with other engineers and departments to resolve technical issues.
    Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance.
    Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
    Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work and equipment performance.
    Providing on-call support as required to address urgent issues.Profile

    The successful candidate will;

    Be educated to a minimum NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering time served apprenticeship.
    Will have knowledge in electrical or mechanical maintenance, within a manufacturing industry.
    Have strong fault-finding and repair skills.
    Have working knowledge of PLC fault-finding and repair, any programming skills would be of great interest.
    Be familiar with working to planned and preventative maintenance schedules in a continuous improvement environment.
    Will have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable when dealing with colleagues at all levels across a range of functions within the business.
    Awareness of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.
    Be able to read technical drawings - desirable
    17th or 18th edition wiring regulations - desirable
    Have experience of modern manufacturing techniques such as 5S, LEAN and TPM would be ideal.·

    Job Offer

    Salary is up to £58,000 depending on your skills and experience (plus call out charges)

    3 shift patterns on a weekly basis - 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm - 10pm-6am Monday to Friday
