How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are currently recruiting for a PDI Operative to join an established and busy workshop environment in the Doncaster area.

This is a hands-on quality-focused role where you will play an important part in ensuring vehicle conversions are completed to the highest possible standards before they leave the workshop.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out detailed quality checks, ensuring equipment and installations are correctly fitted and fully operational, completing documentation and supporting the wider workshop team.

The role would be particularly well suited to Vehicle Technicians, Mechanics, Vehicle Inspectors or candidates with previous PDI, workshop or automotive experience. Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance would also be advantageous.

    What You'll Be Doing As a PDI Operative;

Carrying out detailed checks on completed vehicle conversions to ensure all items have been correctly fitted and are fully operational.
Using a tablet-based system to record and complete quality checks.
Applying stickers, rubber matting and other required items to vehicles.
Using vehicle weigh pads and accurately recording details for different types of conversion.
Completing all relevant paperwork and quality documentation accurately.
Assisting with vehicle handovers, including communicating directly with customers where required.
Supporting the Compliance Manager and Workshop Manager with quality and operational tasks.
Identifying and reporting any issues or defects and assisting with problem solving.
Carrying out other ad hoc duties as required to support the workshop. We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, inspection or a similar environment would be beneficial.
    A valid driving licence.
Basic computer skills and confidence using tablet-based systems.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and external contacts.
A practical approach to problem solving.
High levels of integrity and professionalism.
The ability to handle company processes, data and information confidentially.
A good understanding of the importance of health & safety and following company procedures. What We Offer In return for your skills and commitment, you'll receive:

    £27,000–£29,000 salary, depending on experience.
Permanent employment with an established organisation.
    5.6 weeks' annual leave.
Opportunity to earn up to 3 additional days' holiday over your first three full years of employment.
    Auto-enrolment pension.
24/7 Employee Assistance Programme to support you with life's challenges.
Company-funded Health Cash Plan following successful completion of probation.
    Free on-site car parking.
A Monday–Thursday working pattern, giving you a three-day weekend every week. Why Apply? This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being responsible for ensuring that vehicles meet the required standards before reaching the customer. It could be an excellent next step for a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or automotive professional looking to move into a PDI, inspection or quality-focused position.
