We're recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a professional commercial vehicle workshop in Northampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a dedicated late-shift position, competitive pay and the flexibility to choose between two different working patterns.
You'll be working within a professional commercial vehicle environment, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs while having access to ongoing technical development.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:
·Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles.
·Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
·Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
·Carrying out defect repairs and ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard.
·Using diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify and resolve faults.
·Following manufacturer procedures and workshop standards.
·Completing job cards and repair documentation accurately.
·Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
·Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
·Working as part of a professional team to minimise vehicle downtime.
Late Shift Options
Option 1 - 44 Hour Week
Monday - Thursday: 12:30pm - 10:00pm
Friday: 12:30pm - 9:00pm
44 hours per week
£22.00 - £23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Option 2 - 4-Day Working Week
Monday - Thursday: 11:30am - 10:00pm
Friday: Off
40 hours per week - 4-day working week
£22.00 - £23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
About You
We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician with:
·Level 3 qualification or equivalent in HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
·Previous experience servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs.
·Strong mechanical and diagnostic fault-finding skills.
·A reliable and professional approach to work.
·Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
·The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·A willingness to continue developing technical skills.
A full UK Driving Licence is preferred.
