How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Engineer – MEICA (Water & Wastewater)

    Location

    Based - Aldershot, covering various sites across Hampshire and Berkshire

    The Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of MEICA projects within the Water and Wastewater sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with strong project delivery experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with site teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

    The successful candidate will play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction and procurement through to construction, commissioning, and project completion. You will be responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and commercially successful delivery of projects ranging from £500k to £5m.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support the coordination and delivery of multiple MEICA projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed specifications.

    Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and other stakeholders throughout project delivery.

    Coordinate and support site-based operatives and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered efficiently and safely.

    Maintain accurate site records, project documentation, and support the compilation of Health & Safety files.

    Assist project teams during pre-construction, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.

    Support budget management activities, including procurement of materials, plant, and equipment in line with project cost plans.

    Manage and respond to technical queries arising during procurement and construction stages.

    Develop an understanding of project contractual requirements and help ensure delivery remains compliant with contractual obligations.

    Assist with the identification, assessment, and onboarding of subcontractors and suppliers.

    Remain up to date with relevant construction legislation, industry standards, and best practice.

    Build and maintain strong client relationships while representing the business professionally at all times.

    Promote and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.

    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery and operational processes.

    What We're Looking For

    Experience

    Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Lead Engineer or Project Engineer within the Water and Wastewater industry.

    Proven experience delivering projects valued between £500k and £5m.

    Demonstrable experience supporting or leading project delivery from design through to commissioning.

    Strong understanding of MEICA project environments and site-based delivery.

    Essential Qualifications

    * Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

    Desirable Qualifications & Certifications

    * EUSR Water Hygiene

    * SMSTS

    * CSCS Card

    * First Aid at Work (3 Day)

    * Temporary Works Supervisor

    * Knowledge and practical experience of NEC4 contracts

    Additional Information

    UK-wide travel will be required to support project delivery.

    Flexibility to work outside standard hours when project demands require.

    Full UK Driving Licence essential.
