How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Maintenance Shift Engineer

    Location: City of London
    Salary: Up to £56,000 per annum
    Shift Pattern: Continental Shift – Days & Nights (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Shift Engineer to join a highly regarded facilities management team working on a prestigious site in the City of London.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical engineer looking for a long-term role with a strong employer offering excellent benefits, training and genuine career progression.

    The Role

    As an Electrical Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of electrical building services, ensuring all systems are maintained to a high standard and the site remains safe, compliant and operational.

    You will work as part of a professional engineering team on a continental shift pattern, covering both days and nights.

    Shift pattern:

    * 7am – 7pm

    * 7pm – 7am

    * Continental shift rotation

    * 20 days' shift leave

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.

    * Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.

    * Maintain and repair electrical building services and associated equipment.

    * Respond to breakdowns and ensure minimal disruption to site operations.

    * Complete maintenance records, documentation and reports accurately.

    * Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

    * Liaise with contractors, clients and other engineering disciplines where required.

    About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    * A recognised Electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.

    * Previous experience within a commercial building services / facilities maintenance environment.

    * Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.

    * Good knowledge of electrical systems and building services.

    * The ability to work independently and as part of a shift-based engineering team.

    * A professional approach with excellent communication skills.
