How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Housing Manager

    Location: Sheffield, S5

    Pay Rate: £18.50 per hour PAYE
    Contract: Temporary until the end of November, with the potential for extension
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
    DBS: Current Enhanced DBS covering the Adult Workforce is essential

    The Role

    We're recruiting for an experienced Housing Manager to support the effective delivery of housing management services within a supported housing complex in Sheffield.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional with a strong understanding of housing legislation and supported housing. You'll be responsible for ensuring residents receive a high-quality housing management and tenancy sustainment service while supporting the effective day-to-day management of the service.

    The position will involve working with vulnerable residents, overseeing housing management issues and supporting colleagues to ensure properties are safe, compliant, well maintained and effectively managed.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Oversee the delivery of high-quality housing management and tenancy sustainment services.

    * Provide guidance and support to staff dealing with day-to-day housing management issues.

    * Manage and advise on tenancy matters including ASB, rent arrears, tenancy breaches, neighbourhood issues and tenancy sustainment.

    * Support the effective management of void properties and help improve property turnaround and occupancy levels.

    * Ensure housing management activity is delivered in accordance with relevant housing legislation, policies and procedures.

    * Support staff with safeguarding concerns, risk management and referrals involving vulnerable residents.

    * Ensure accurate case records, tenancy information and supporting documentation are maintained.

    * Monitor service performance and contribute towards the achievement of agreed targets and KPIs.

    * Work closely with repairs and maintenance teams to ensure properties remain safe, compliant and maintained to an appropriate standard.

    * Develop effective working relationships with local authorities, contractors, support services and other partner agencies.

    * Support the resolution of complaints, incidents and complex housing management matters.

    * Promote positive tenant engagement and involvement within the service.

    About You

    * Previous housing management experience is essential.

    * Experience working within supported housing or providing intensive housing management to vulnerable people.

    * Strong working knowledge of housing legislation relevant to social housing, landlords and tenants.

    * Experience dealing with housing management issues including ASB, rent arrears, tenancy enforcement, allocations, repairs, voids and conflict resolution.

    * Previous experience supervising, supporting or managing housing staff.

    * Good understanding of safeguarding and risk when working with vulnerable adults.

    * Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

    * Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with residents, colleagues and external agencies.

    * Confident maintaining accurate case records and using housing or case management systems.

    * Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a busy supported housing environment.
