How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

We're recruiting for an experienced Scheme Manager to provide a high-quality housing management and tenancy support service within an accommodation scheme for residents aged 55 and over in Manchester.

This is a varied, customer-facing role where you'll support residents to maintain their independence and wellbeing while ensuring the scheme remains safe, well-managed and compliant.

You'll provide day-to-day tenancy management, advice and signposting, monitor repairs and compliance requirements, support lettings activity and build positive relationships with residents and external agencies.

The role may also involve providing cover at other schemes within the region when required.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide day-to-day tenancy management, advice and guidance to residents.

    * Promote independent living and signpost residents to appropriate support services and external agencies.

    * Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation in activities within the scheme.

    * Complete mandatory compliance tasks, scheme inspections and health and safety checks.

    * Identify and report repairs, monitoring them through to completion and ensuring the appropriate records are maintained.

    * Undertake wellbeing calls to residents through the warden call system.

    * Support the lettings team with the management and turnaround of vacant properties.

    * Provide cover at other schemes within the region when required.

    * Refer residents to appropriate support agencies and assist them in accessing available services.

    * Deal with low-level anti-social behaviour complaints and support the resolution of disputes between residents.

    * Respond to resident enquiries and complaints, aiming to resolve issues effectively at the earliest opportunity.

    * Maintain accurate records and ensure confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately.

    * Liaise with contractors, colleagues, external agencies and other stakeholders to ensure residents receive an effective service.

    About You

    * Experience working with older people, ideally within housing, supported housing, sheltered accommodation or a similar environment.

    * Experience of tenancy management, housing support or resident-facing services.

    * A good understanding of the needs of older residents and the services available to support independent living.

    * Confident dealing with resident queries, low-level ASB, disputes and sensitive situations.

    * Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

    * Able to prioritise workloads and work effectively to deadlines.

    * Comfortable completing health and safety checks, compliance tasks and maintaining accurate records.

    * Good IT skills and the ability to maintain computerised information and documentation.

    * A proactive, organised and approachable manner.

    * Full UK Driving Licence is desirable due to the requirement to provide cover across other schemes within the region.

    Why Apply?

    * £13.97 per hour PAYE.

    * Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

    * Varied position combining housing management, resident wellbeing and scheme management.

    * Opportunity to work within an established housing organisation.

    * Rewarding role supporting residents to maintain their independence and quality of life.
