How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Engineer

    Salary: £34,000
    Location: Site-based manufacturing role

    A growing manufacturing business is looking for a Quality Engineer (or Quality Inspector who can step up) to take ownership of continuous improvement projects across its operation. This Quality Engineer position is focused on using quality and customer data to identify problems, investigate root causes and work with the wider business to deliver lasting improvements.

    The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and has been recruited to give continuous improvement activity the dedicated attention it needs.

    What This Quality Engineer Role Offers

    * Ownership of quality and continuous improvement projects from problem identification through to implementation.

    * A strong focus on data analysis, root cause investigation and practical problem solving.

    * Support from a Quality Manager who is committed to backing positive change.

    * Exposure across Production, Technical, Supply Chain, Engineering and other operational teams.

    * Bupa private healthcare, pension scheme and cycle-to-work scheme.

    The Role

    A key part of the Quality Engineer position will be analysing customer quality information and turning data into clear improvement priorities. From there, you will establish specific projects, investigate what is happening within production or the supply chain and introduce containment and corrective actions.

    As Quality Engineer, responsibilities will include:

    * Analyse defect, rework, customer return and complaint data to identify trends.

    * Lead root cause investigations into recurring quality problems.

    * Own and progress continuous improvement projects.

    * Lead the fortnightly continuous improvement activity and keep actions moving.

    * Work with Production, Technical and Supply Chain teams to identify and implement improvements.

    * Develop corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects, rework and warranty issues.

    * Support and maintain the Quality Management System.

    * Review audit findings, identify repeat issues and help drive improvements.

    * Produce quality reports and communicate trends, risks and actions to management.

    * Support quality planning and improvements across the production process.

    What They’re Looking For

    Candidates do not necessarily need to have held the exact title of Quality Engineer. The business is open to people currently working as a Continuous Improvement Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineer, provided they have relevant manufacturing experience.

    Ideally, candidates will have:

    * Experience within manufacturing or a production environment.

    * Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

    * Confidence analysing quality data and identifying meaningful trends.

    * Good Excel or Google Sheets skills.

    * Experience of corrective actions and continuous improvement.

    * An understanding of Quality Management Systems.

    * The communication skills to work effectively across different departments.

    Formal Six Sigma qualifications are not essential; practical experience and the ability to demonstrate improvements are more important.

    Benefits

    * £34,000 salary.

    * Bupa private healthcare.

    * Pension scheme.

    * Cycle-to-work scheme.

    * Company and family events.

    If you are looking for a Quality Engineer role where you can get into the data, understand why problems are happening and then work with manufacturing teams to fix them, we would welcome your application
