How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Passive Fire Site Manager / Contracts Manager – Fire Stopping & Fire Doors
    Location: Luton, Hatfield & Surrounding Areas
    Salary: Competitive (DOE)
    Contract: Temp to Perm

    The Opportunity

    This is an excellent opportunity for a senior passive fire professional to join a growing contractor delivering fire stopping and fire door works across a range of projects including government-related contracts. The business currently has approximately six active projects running concurrently, with a strong focus on compliance, quality and structured delivery and a steady pipeline of further work secured.

    This is a temp to perm position offering genuine long-term potential for the right candidate, with real responsibility from day one across a varied and compliance-driven workload.

    The Role

    As Senior Passive Fire Site Manager / Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of passive fire protection works across multiple concurrent projects in the Luton and Hatfield area. You will oversee site activities across fire stopping, compartmentation and fire door programmes, manage subcontractors and site teams, and ensure all works are delivered safely, compliantly and to the required certification standards.

    This is a senior role requiring someone who can operate at both site and contracts management level — reviewing drawings and specifications, managing third-party certification requirements, supporting procurement and maintaining clear audit trails through to project handover.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Take overall responsibility for the delivery of fire stopping, compartmentation and fire door works across approximately six concurrent projects

    * Plan, coordinate and supervise passive fire works across multiple sites in the Luton and Hatfield area

    * Manage subcontractors and site teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring works are delivered in line with manufacturer guidance and relevant standards

    * Implement and monitor quality control processes including inspections, audits and sign-off procedures

    * Manage third-party certification requirements and ensure operatives work within scope

    * Review drawings, specifications and surveys to confirm fire strategy requirements

    * Identify risks and non-compliance issues early and escalate where required

    * Liaise professionally with project teams, clients and stakeholders throughout

    * Support procurement with selection of compliant materials and systems

    * Maintain accurate records using digital systems and produce reports, inspection records and compliance documentation

    * Maintain clear audit trails and support project handovers to the required standard

    * Manage government-related project requirements in line with specific compliance and security protocols

    What We're Looking For

    * Proven experience at a senior level within passive fire protection — fire stopping, compartmentation and fire doors

    * NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent — required

    * Passive fire or fire stopping qualification — required

    * Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and subcontractor teams — essential

    * Strong knowledge of FIRAS, BM TRADA and IFC certification schemes — essential

    * Experience using OneTrace or similar digital reporting systems — desirable

    * Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and fire strategy documents

    * Experience working on or managing government-related projects — desirable

    * DBS check or willingness to obtain — required

    * SMSTS — required

    * CSCS Card — required

    * Full UK Driving Licence — required

    * Willingness to travel across Luton, Hatfield and surrounding project sites

    What's On Offer

    * Competitive salary (DOE)

    * Temp to perm opportunity

    * Approximately six active projects with a growing pipeline

    * Exposure to government-related and compliance-driven contract environments

    * Long-term opportunity with a growing and structured passive fire contractor
