How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Press break operator

    Location: Danbury, Essex – CM3

    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    Salary: £16 - £18 an hour, depending on experience

    Hours: Monday–Friday, 40hr per week

    The Role

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join an established engineering and sheet-metal manufacturing business based in Danbury, Essex.

    This is a permanent opportunity for someone with previous experience operating CNC press brake machinery within a sheet-metal fabrication or engineering environment.

    You will be responsible for producing accurate, high-quality components from engineering drawings while maintaining excellent standards of quality and safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Operating CNC press brake machinery to bend and form sheet-metal components

    *

    Setting and operating machinery to produce components to specification

    *

    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    *

    Selecting and changing tooling where required

    *

    Adjusting machine settings to achieve accurate bends and dimensions

    *

    Carrying out first-off and in-process quality checks

    *

    Working with materials including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium

    *

    Checking finished components using appropriate measuring equipment

    *

    Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

    *

    Working to production schedules and maintaining quality standards

    The Ideal Candidate

    The successful candidate will have:

    *

    Previous experience as a Press Brake Operator, Press Brake Setter/Operator, CNC Press Brake Operator, CNC Folder Operator or similar

    *

    Experience working within a sheet-metal, fabrication or engineering environment

    *

    The ability to read and understand engineering drawings

    *

    Experience operating CNC press brake machinery

    *

    Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality

    *

    The ability to work independently and as part of a production team

    *

    A reliable and positive approach to work

    Setter experience would be advantageous but is not essential if you have strong Press Brake operating experience.
