How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Carpenter

    Chichester PO19, £26 per hour, Temporary 3–4 Weeks

    Are you an experienced Carpenter with excellent first and second fix skills, a strong eye for detail and experience across all aspects of carpentry? Workshop Recruitment is looking for an experienced Carpenter to work on a high-end property in the Chichester area. You will need proven experience across all aspects of carpentry, including first and second fix work, door hanging, architrave, skirting, locks and handles. This is a temporary 3–4 week opportunity, with the potential for further work for the right candidate. The Carpenter will be expected to deliver a high-quality finish throughout the property and take pride in their workmanship. The successful Carpenter must be reliable, professional and able to work independently. You must live within a good and practical travelling distance of Chichester and have your own van and tools, provide 2 x sources of references.

    Job Responsibilities

    Complete first and second fix carpentry.
    Hang and adjust internal doors.
    Fit architraves and skirting boards.
    Install locks, handles and associated ironmongery.
    Carry out all aspects of carpentry and joinery.
    General building skills preferred
    Maintain a high standard of finish throughout the property.
    Work safely, professionally and independently.
    Skills & Knowledge Required

    Proven experience working as a Carpenter.
    Strong first and second fix carpentry skills.
    Experience hanging doors and fitting architrave and skirting.
    Competent fitting locks, handles and door furniture.
    Excellent eye for detail and high-quality finishing skills.
    General building skills would be an advantage.
    Own van and tools are essential.
    Must provide 2 sources of work references
    Live within good travel distance of Chichester
