How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Company Overview:

Engineering @ 365 are working with a leading provider of heavy plant machinery solutions dedicated to delivering excellence in engineering and customer service. With a reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation, they specialise in designing, manufacturing, and installing heavy plant machinery for various industries. As we continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a skilled and hands-on Field Engineer to join their dynamic team.

    Job Overview:

As a Field Engineer specialising in heavy plant machinery installation and commissioning, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful deployment and operation of our client's machinery, primarily across UK sites, with occasional international travel as project requirements demand. From initial installation to final commissioning, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the installation process, coordinating with clients and project teams, and providing technical support to ensure the machinery meets performance standards and client requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Travel to client sites across the UK (with occasional international travel) to oversee the installation and commissioning of heavy plant machinery, including crushers, conveyors, excavators, and other specialised equipment.

    * Coordinate with project managers, site managers, and subcontractors to plan and schedule installation activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project timelines.

    * Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal placement and configuration of machinery, taking into account site conditions, safety requirements, and client specifications.

    * Supervise and direct installation teams and subcontractors, providing guidance and technical expertise to ensure proper assembly, alignment, and integration of machinery components.

    * Carry out banksman duties as required, directing plant movements and lifting operations safely on site.

    * Operate telehandlers to assist with the positioning and installation of machinery components where required.

    * Perform functional testing and quality assurance checks to verify that machinery meets performance standards, safety regulations, and client expectations.

    * Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve equipment malfunctions or deficiencies promptly to minimise downtime and ensure uninterrupted operation.

    * Provide training and technical support to client personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of installed machinery.

    * Maintain accurate documentation and records of installation activities, including installation reports, test results, and as-built drawings.

    Qualifications:

    * Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (apprenticeship-trained candidates welcome).

    * Proven experience working as a Field Engineer, Site Engineer, or Installation Engineer in the heavy machinery industry, ideally within a workshop and site installation environment.

    * Strong technical knowledge of heavy plant machinery, including installation, assembly, and commissioning procedures.

    * Banksman certification, or willingness to obtain.

    * SPA Quarry Passport held, or willingness to obtain.

    * Telehandling experience, with a valid telehandler licence (NPORS/CPCS or equivalent).

    * Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, with occasional international travel and work in diverse environments, including remote and quarry-based locations.

    * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments.

    * Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients from diverse backgrounds.

    * Valid driver's licence and passport, with the ability to obtain necessary travel documents and visas as required
