How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established engineering and manufacturing organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to support its manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement across product, process and quality standards.

    The successful candidate will provide a robust quality function across the site, supporting production teams with day-to-day quality issues while maintaining and improving the organisation's associated ISO quality systems.

    You will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance and control processes, ensuring manufactured products consistently meet customer, regulatory and internal requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Act as a key point of contact to the manufacturing floor for product and process quality issues, including mechanical fit, manufacturing processes and electronic component specifications.

    Investigate product and process non-conformance's, implementing immediate containment actions and ensuring effective long-term corrective actions are introduced.

    Analyse manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.

    Develop, monitor and report key quality metrics and KPIs.

    Produce regular quality reports and recommendations for the wider Quality and Engineering teams.

    Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to provide technical support and ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards.

    Review engineering designs and manufacturing processes, contributing quality requirements and considerations where required.

    Coordinate and communicate quality information with internal departments, customers and suppliers.

    Prepare and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with customer requirements.

    Liaise with suppliers regarding quality issues and ensure purchased components and materials meet agreed specifications.

    Manage customer, supplier and internal non-conformance's using structured problem-solving techniques including 8D corrective action reporting.

    Conduct and support internal, supplier and external quality audits.

    Support the continued development, implementation and maintenance of relevant ISO management systems.

    Contribute to process design, risk reduction and manufacturing quality activities using tools including PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.

    Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, engineering and quality functions.

    Promote a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

    Experience & Skills

    Previous Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

    Ideally experienced within a highly regulated industry such as Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices, Defence or similar high-integrity manufacturing.

    Minimum of approximately 5 years' experience within an electronics, electro-mechanical or related manufacturing organisation.

    Strong understanding of manufacturing and process quality.

    Experience investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventative actions.

    Good knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D and root cause analysis.

    Experience completing FAIRs / First Article Inspections.

    Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP and associated quality tools.

    Experience conducting internal and/or supplier quality audits.

    Understanding of ISO-accredited quality management systems.

    Comfortable working directly with production, engineering, suppliers and customers.

    Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

    Good IT skills, including the ability to analyse and present quality and manufacturing data.

    Qualifications

    Ideally educated to HNC level or equivalent within Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related technical discipline.

    Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
