How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer

    Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer | Bristol (Hybrid) | 12 Month Contract | £50 per hour Umbrella

    Our client is a leading engineering and technology organisation operating at the forefront of advanced defence and aerospace systems. With a strong reputation for innovation, technical excellence and investment in engineering talent, they deliver complex, high-performance solutions for customers across the UK and internationally.
    Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer to join a specialist Electronic Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on sophisticated engineering programmes, contributing to the design and development of critical cable and harness systems used within highly advanced products.

    The Opportunity

    As an Interconnects Cable / Harness Design Engineer, you will join a team recognised as the organisation's subject matter experts in connectivity and interconnect solutions. You will be responsible for designing cable assemblies and harnesses, supporting product development activities, and providing technical expertise across the wider business.
    Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll have the opportunity to influence design standards, drive process improvements and support the implementation of industry-leading engineering tools and methodologies.

    Key Responsibilities

    Interpret subsystem and system-level requirements to develop effective interconnect solutions.
    Create electrical schematics and cable design definitions using Zuken E3.
    Support, guide and troubleshoot issues for E3 users across the engineering community.
    Integrate and utilise Zuken E3 throughout the product development lifecycle.
    Investigate cable and harness design issues, identifying root causes and developing technical solutions.
    Work closely with project teams, manufacturing functions and other engineering disciplines.
    Support product verification, environmental testing and functional trials.
    Contribute to process development, capability enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives relating to E3 workflows.
    Provide technical advice and support to resolve manufacturing and production challenges.

    About You

    Experience with Zuken
    Cable and harness design experience
    Electrical schematics and wiring design
    Strong communication skills
