How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Finance & Tax Accountant

    Milton Keynes | Hybrid Working (3 days in the office)

    We're partnering with a well-established and highly respected business to recruit a Finance & Tax Accountant into a key role within their finance team.

    The Opportunity

    You'll be responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation and submission of a variety of tax returns and statutory requirements, while also supporting wider financial accounting activities and business projects.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Managing corporation tax and VAT reporting across multiple entities
    Preparing and maintaining tax records, returns and related compliance activities
    Supporting payroll-related tax obligations, including P11Ds and PSA reporting
    Preparing tax disclosures and deferred tax calculations for statutory accounts
    Reconciling tax-related balance sheet accounts
    Supporting year-end audits and responding to tax-related queries
    Monitoring legislative changes and assessing their impact on the business
    Contributing to projects with tax and financial implications
    Supporting the Financial Controller with wider accounting and ad hoc initiativesAbout You

    We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

    Experience in VAT and Corporation Tax
    A strong understanding of accounting principles and tax reporting
    CTA, ACA or ACCA qualification (or part-qualified status)
    Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
    Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
    The ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levelsExperience with SAP, Irish tax regulations, transfer pricing or international tax matters would be advantageous but is not essential.
