How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our client is an established business within the infrastructure sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager (Overhead Lines) to drive growth across their overhead arboriculture management services.

    Business Development Manager (Overhead Lines) Key Essentials:
    * Develop and implement a targeted business development strategy focused on overhead arboriculture management services
    * Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across DNOs, utility companies, principal contractors and infrastructure providers
    * Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to support ambitious revenue and growth targets
    * Establish and develop strong, long-term relationships with key clients, decision-makers, procurement teams and operational stakeholders
    * Identify and secure new contracts, framework agreements and long-term commercial partnerships
    * Lead and contribute to tender submissions, bids, pricing exercises and commercial negotiations
    * Monitor market trends, competitor activity and forthcoming procurement opportunities to identify and maximise potential growth areas
    * Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, client meetings and networking opportunities
    * Work closely with operational teams to ensure effective mobilisation and successful delivery of newly secured contracts
    * Provide valuable market intelligence and contribute to the overall commercial strategy and future growth of the business
    Business Development Manager (Overhead Lines) Requirements:
    * Demonstrable success in business development within the overhead utilities or arboriculture management sector
    * Experience identifying and securing new contracts with DNOs, utility providers, Tier 1 contractors and major infrastructure organisations
    * Strong track record of winning framework agreements, tenders and long-term service contracts
    * Commercially astute with proven ability to negotiate effectively and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
    * Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage with clients at all levels
