How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Engineer

    Permanent & Contract Opportunities Available

Are you an experienced Production Engineer looking to play a key role in the delivery of complex shipbuilding programmes?

We are seeking talented Production Engineers to support major vessel construction projects across all phases of build, from cut steel and structural assembly through to outfit integration, commissioning, and final delivery. Whether you're looking for a permanent role or your next contract assignment, this is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team working on nationally significant maritime programmes.

    The Opportunity

As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing production engineering solutions that drive safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel construction. Working across multiple disciplines, you will ensure production activities are fully planned, engineered, and sequenced to support programme delivery.

You will collaborate with Design, Planning, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project teams to optimise build strategies and maintain production flow across shipyard facilities.

    Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage production work orders across all stages of vessel construction.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting manufacturing documentation.
Define and implement build strategies, manufacturing sequences, and production methodologies.
Support production planning activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to schedule.
Review and interpret engineering drawings relating to structural, piping, and outfitting systems.
Participate in production readiness reviews for blocks, modules, and major assemblies.
Develop lift plans, turning assessments, and transportation considerations for large structures.
Support production scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting activities
Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges and improve build performance.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and programme requirements throughout the build lifecycle.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential Skills & Experience

Experience within Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar engineering environment.
Strong understanding of production workflows and manufacturing processes
Ability to create, manage, and control work orders throughout a project lifecycle.
Experience developing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Knowledge of build sequencing, work package development, and production planning.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience working within complex engineering or manufacturing programmes

    Desirable Experience

Shipbuilding, marine, naval, offshore, oil & gas, defence, or heavy engineering experience.
    Experience supporting multi-phase build programmes
Knowledge of structural fabrication, block assembly, outfit installation, and commissioning activities.
Experience developing build strategy documentation and defining production work quantities.
Understanding of heavy lift planning and block transportation activities

    Toolsets & Systems

Experience with some or all of the following would be advantageous:

SAP (Work Order Management, Production Control, Material Management, Progress Reporting).
    Foran, Ship Constructor or AutoCAD
    Production planning and scheduling systems
Lift planning and transportation assessment tools
Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
Digital production reporting and readiness systems

    Why Apply?

    Permanent and contract opportunities available
Work on complex, high-profile shipbuilding programmes
Be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment
