How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SCHOOL MINIBUS DRIVER
    Salary: Competitive salary
Location: LVS Ascot, Berkshire, SL5 8DR
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 34 weeks per year
    Shifts: 6.30am to 8.30am and 4.00pm to 6.00pm
Contract: Permanent, part time, term time
Start date: Mid September 2026, subject to completion of compliance checks
    ABOUT LVS ASCOT
LVS Ascot is an inclusive independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 4 to 19. The school provides a supportive environment where pupils can thrive academically and personally, and where every member of staff contributes to a safe, welcoming school community.
    THE ROLE
As School Minibus Driver, you will transport pupils safely between home and school on designated local routes.
You will be one of the first people pupils see in the morning and one of the last at the end of their day, so a calm, friendly and professional approach is essential.
The permanent split shift pattern leaves the middle of the day free and may suit someone looking for regular term time work that fits around other commitments. The role follows the school’s published term dates, with holidays and INSET arrangements included. All staff are expected to attend mandatory training.
    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
    * Driving pupils safely and responsibly on designated school routes.
    * Completing daily passenger registers accurately and following agreed collection and drop off procedures.
    * Checking routes and planning appropriately for roadworks, delays and diversions.
    * Ensuring seat belts are worn and promoting safe, appropriate behaviour on the vehicle.
    * Carrying out daily vehicle checks, including fuel, oil, water, tyres and screen wash.
    * Reporting mechanical, safety, safeguarding or behavioural concerns promptly.
    * Keeping the minibus presentable and following all school, safeguarding and road safety procedures.
    WHAT YOU’LL NEED
    * A full, clean UK driving licence and the appropriate legal entitlement to drive a minibus.
    * A safe and considerate driving style, with a good knowledge of the Highway Code.
    * Strong spoken and written English, with the confidence to communicate clearly with pupils, parents and colleagues.
    * Excellent punctuality, reliability and personal responsibility.
    * A calm, patient and professional manner around children and young people.
    * A positive attitude towards split shift working, with the ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Previous school driving experience is welcome but not essential. Experience as a minibus, bus, coach, community transport, taxi, private hire, delivery or professional driver may transfer particularly well.
You must also be willing to complete any role specific training required by LVS Ascot.
    WHAT YOU’LL GET
    * A competitive salary.
    * A permanent role working 20 hours per week across 34 weeks per year.
    * Regular weekday hours during school term time.
    * The middle of the working day free.
    * Full training and a provided uniform.
    * Free onsite parking.
    * A supportive working environment within an established school.
    * Access to pension and employee wellbeing benefits, subject to eligibility.
    HOW TO APPLY
Apply through the job board with your CV. The recruitment team will review applications and contact candidates whose experience appears closely matched.
Suitable candidates will then receive the formal LVS Ascot application form and candidate information pack. The completed application form must be returned directly to LVS Ascot in accordance with the instructions provided. A CV is not a substitute for the school’s formal application form.
LVS Ascot will manage the formal shortlisting and interview process.
LVS Ascot is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Appointment is subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check and all required pre employment and compliance checks.
Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.
