How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client deliver multidisciplinary construction services nationally across real estate, regeneration and infrastructure, bringing commercial precision, strategic oversight and global capability to every project. Our business is built on people and backed for scale.

    Due to continued growth across their Infrastructure division in the South of England, we are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Project Director to lead commercially on complex Energy, Utilities and Infrastructure programmes.

    This is a senior, client-facing leadership role where you will act as a trusted NEC adviser, lead strategic commercial delivery and help shape the future growth of the Commercial Management service line.

    You will already be operating at this level, visible to clients, close to delivery and trusted to make commercially critical decisions at programme level. This opportunity would suit someone looking for greater influence, autonomy and the ability to genuinely shape outcomes within a growing consultancy environment.

    You will establish and oversee multiple client projects, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across diverse programmes and portfolios.

    Working closely with senior stakeholders internally and externally, you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to drive governance, delivery excellence and continuous improvement.

    Reporting directly to the Director of Infrastructure, this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for service delivery, business growth, team leadership and P&L performance. You will play a key role in shaping strategy, developing capability and ensuring successful delivery across major infrastructure programmes.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Lead the rapidly growing commercial team in the Southern region

    *

    Lead commercial management activities across major Energy, Utilities and Infrastructure programmes from strategy through to final account

    *

    Act as senior commercial and NEC adviser to key clients and stakeholders

    *

    Provide expert advice across NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.

    *

    Establish proportionate and compliant commercial governance frameworks that support programme delivery

    *

    Oversee valuations, forecasting, reporting, claims, variations and final accounts

    *

    Provide senior commercial leadership and intervene directly where strategic judgement is required

    *

    Lead, mentor and develop commercial teams across multiple commissions

    *

    Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing insight, challenge and strategic recommendations

    *

    Collaborate with senior leadership on the continued growth and direction of the Commercial Management function

    *

    Lead on business development activity, leading bids, proposals and client presentations in the South region and support in all other regions

    *

    Drive continuous improvement across the Commercial function, embedding lessons learned and industry best practice

    *

    Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing Commercial team in the Southern region

    *

    Develop strategy for growth of Commercial services in the Southern region

    Essential Experience & Skills

    *

    Proven track record operating at Senior Commercial Manager on major infrastructure programs and portfolios

    *

    Excellent NEC contract knowledge

    *

    Background within Energy, Utilities or major Infrastructure environments

    *

    Experience managing complex commercial programmes and senior stakeholder relationships

    *

    Degree or HNC qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

    *

    MRICS qualified or equivalent professional accreditation

    *

    Commercially astute with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach

    *

    Comfortable operating with high visibility, accountability and autonomy

    *

    Existing industry network and client relationships within the Infrastructure or Utilities sectors
