How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description

    The role of the Litigation Legal Secretary is pivotal within a busy legal team specialising in dispute resolution. The successful candidate supports solicitors and legal professionals by providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial assistance specifically related to litigation matters. This position requires a high level of accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare, format and proofread legal documents, correspondence, court forms, and bundles ensuring compliance with court and firm standards.
    Manage and maintain case files, both electronic and paper-based, ensuring all documentation is accurately recorded and easily retrievable.
    Coordinate and diarise court dates, hearings, client meetings and deadlines, ensuring all parties are kept informed.
    Assist with the preparation and submission of court applications and documents via appropriate electronic filing systems.
    Liaise professionally with clients, court officials, barristers, and other external parties in a timely and confidential manner.
    Support fee earners by managing incoming and outgoing post, telephone enquiries, and email correspondence.
    Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion at all times.
    Provide general administrative support including photocopying, scanning, and filing as required.
    Monitor and report on case progress and deadlines to ensure compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
    Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines.
    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive legal information.
    Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
    Good numerical skills and the ability to manage billing or time recording systems is beneficial.
