How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Starting Salary: £50,000 - £52,000 per annum + Bonus

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday | Site-based

A growing food manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Senior Process Technologist to join its NPD team, taking a key role in turning innovative kitchen concepts into commercially successful products.

Working closely with the Chef Director, you will lead the technical process development of new and existing products from concept through to launch, ensuring recipes can be successfully scaled into efficient, consistent and production-ready manufacturing processes without compromising on quality or innovation.

You'll work cross-functionally with NPD, Operations, Technical, Quality and Commercial, taking the technical lead across factory trials, scale-ups and first productions while identifying opportunities to improve processes, yields and manufacturing efficiency.

This is a hands-on role combining technical expertise, project leadership and people development. You'll also have a Process Technologist reporting into you, giving you the opportunity to coach and develop someone while remaining closely involved in trials, launches and day-to-day process activity.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Lead factory trials and process validations across NPD and EPD projects
    • Translate kitchen recipes into scalable, factory-ready processes while protecting product quality and innovation
    • Take the technical lead during factory scale-ups, first productions and pre-launch activities
    • Work closely with Operations, Quality, Technical and Commercial teams to deliver successful product launches
    • Develop and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, consistency and food safety compliance
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, yield improvement and process optimisation across the product portfolio
    • Produce and maintain process documentation including trial reports, specifications, HACCP plans and risk assessments
    • Ensure new products meet internal quality standards, food safety requirements and relevant retailer standards
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across NPD and manufacturing
    • Manage, support and develop a Process Technologist, providing guidance across trials, projects and process activities

    What's In It for You

    • A senior process role with ownership of projects from kitchen concept through to full-scale production
    • The opportunity to lead factory trials, scale-ups and launches within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
    • People management responsibility for a Junior Process Technologist, allowing you to further develop your leadership experience
    • Broad cross-functional exposure across NPD, Operations, Technical, Quality and Commercial
    • The opportunity to influence process optimisation, yields, efficiency and continuous improvement
    • Bonus in addition to your basic salary

    Your Background

    • Proven experience within a Process Technologist, Senior Process Technologist or NPD role in food manufacturing
    • Experience working with chilled, ready-to-eat products
    • Strong understanding of factory processes, scale-up and product launch best practice
    • Good knowledge of BRC, HACCP and retailer technical standards
    • Experience leading factory trials and translating kitchen concepts into commercially scalable products
    • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence across departments
    • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
    • Previous experience supporting, mentoring or managing team members would be advantageous

Join a Business That Invests in You

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in the journey from kitchen concept to commercial reality, combining hands-on process development with project ownership and people leadership.

You'll join a collaborative food manufacturing business where you'll have the opportunity to influence how products are scaled, improve manufacturing processes and play a key role in delivering successful new product launches.

If you're an experienced Process Technologist who enjoys being on the factory floor, solving problems and turning great concepts into consistently great products at scale, we would love to hear from you
