How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Technician to support a brand-new Automotive Aftermarket Training Centre in Nuneaton.

    This is an exciting opportunity for someone with hands-on vehicle repair, bodyshop, paint, or workshop experience who enjoys a varied role combining technical support, product testing, training assistance, stock management, and facility coordination.

    Working alongside the Application Engineering team, you will play a key role in supporting customer training programmes, product demonstrations, and the day-to-day operation of a state-of-the-art training facility.

    About the Role - The Automotive Aftermarket team delivers technical training to:

    Channel partners
    Bodyshop customers
    Internal sales teamsThe team also evaluates and tests new products before they are released to market, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and quality.

    As a Workshop Technician, you'll provide practical support across workshop activities, product testing, stock control, compliance, and facilities management while helping to create an exceptional training experience for customers and colleagues.

    Key Responsibilities - Workshop & Technical Support

    Prepare vehicles and testing panels for training sessions and demonstrations
    Support Application Engineers with practical workshop activities
    Assist with product demonstrations and evaluations
    Carry out paint preparation, masking, paint application, polishing, and defect removal activities
    Maintain workshop equipment and ensure work areas remain organised and ready for use
    Training Support - Assist with the delivery of vehicle repair solution training
    Support customer demonstrations and hands-on practical sessions
    Help prepare training rooms, equipment, and products
    Work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams during training events
    Product Testing - Support testing and validation of new products
    Record results and provide feedback on product performance
    Assist with trial activities and workshop evaluations
    Stock Control & Logistics - Manage stock levels and consumable supplies
    Place product orders when required
    Organise storage areas and inventory
    Coordinate deliveries and receipt of incoming goods
    Health, Safety & Compliance - Monitor and control chemicals held on site
    Complete and maintain COSHH assessments
    Review and update Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
    Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and workshop standards
    Facilities Support - Welcome customers, visitors, and contractors
    Set up meeting rooms and training areas
    Assist with the day-to-day operation of the training centre
    Support general housekeeping and site maintenance activities

    What We're Looking For - Essential

    Practical hands-on experience in vehicle repair, bodyshop, automotive refinishing, or a similar trade
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Positive, can-do attitude
    Ability to work with a variety of customers and colleagues
    Good organisational skills and attention to detail
    Basic to intermediate IT skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

    Desirable -

    Previous training or demonstration experience
    Presentation skills
    Advanced IT skills
    Experience within automotive aftermarket environments
    Knowledge of paint application and vehicle repair processes
