How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Lift / Elevator Engineer

    Location: Bristol & Surrounding Areas
    Salary: £40,000–£50,000 + Overtime + Benefits
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    The Opportunity

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lift / Elevator Engineer to join an established and growing lift engineering business, covering Bristol and the surrounding South West area.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer looking for a long-term position with a strong pipeline of work, regular service routes and excellent earning potential.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of a range of passenger, goods and service lifts across commercial, residential and other client sites.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing

    * Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults

    * Complete reactive repairs and breakdown call-outs

    * Carry out minor modernisation and component replacement works

    * Maintain accurate service records and electronic job sheets

    * Build strong relationships with customers and site contacts

    * Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

    * Participate in an out-of-hours / standby rota

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced Lift Engineer with:

    * NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent

    * Previous experience within lift servicing, maintenance, repair or installation

    * Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills

    * Experience working across a range of lift equipment and manufacturers

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Good communication and customer service skills

    * Ability to work independently and manage your own service route

    Package

    * £40,000–£50,000 basic salary, depending on experience
