How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Lead
    Rotation: 10 days on / 4 days off

    We're looking for an experience Commercial Lead to support the delivery of hyperscale data centres across Europe. 

    This is a senior site-based leadership role for a commercially astute professional with extensive experience delivering complex projects within the data centre sector. You will work closely with project leadership, clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to drive commercial success and ensure effective cost and contract management throughout the project lifecycle.

    The Role

    As Commercial Lead, you will oversee the commercial function on the project, providing strategic direction, managing commercial risk and ensuring robust financial control from pre-construction through to completion.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Leading the commercial strategy and delivery for a major data centre project
    Taking ownership of project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and financial reporting
    Managing commercial risk, opportunities and mitigation strategies
    Overseeing contract administration, variations, change management and claims
    Leading subcontractor procurement, negotiation and commercial management
    Managing client relationships and supporting commercial negotiations
    Reviewing contractual obligations and ensuring compliance across the project
    Providing commercial leadership and guidance to the project team
    Preparing and presenting monthly commercial reports, forecasts and project updates
    Managing final accounts and supporting successful project close-out
    Driving continuous improvement across commercial processes and project deliveryRequirements

    To be considered, you will need:

    Minimum 10+ years’ experience in commercial management, quantity surveying or a senior commercial role
    Proven experience working on data centre projects is essential
    A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
    Extensive experience managing large-scale, complex construction or engineering projects
    Strong knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or similar contract frameworks
    Demonstrable experience managing high-value contracts, variations, claims and commercial negotiations
    Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide commercial teams
    Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
    Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
    Strong understanding of commercial risk, cost control and project governance
    Rotation

    The position operates on a 10/4 rotation – 10 days working followed by 4 days off, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional seeking a rotational project environment.
