How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £270–£290 per Day

    Immediate Start AvailableWe are currently seeking experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Engineers to support a busy service and testing contract across London.

    This is an excellent opportunity for engineers looking for consistent subcontract work, with the contract operating on an initial 3-month rolling basis and the potential for ongoing extensions.

    The role will primarily involve fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing, planned maintenance and identifying faults/remedial works across a portfolio of sites throughout London.

    Scope of Work The successful engineers will be responsible for:

    Carrying out routine fire alarm testing and inspections
    Emergency lighting testing and maintenance
    Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
    Identifying faults and required remedial works
    Basic fault finding and repairs where required
    Completing test sheets, service reports and associated documentation
    Ensuring all work is completed in line with relevant British Standards and client requirements
    Working independently and managing a daily workload across London
    Delivering a professional service while working within occupied buildingsLocation Work will be carried out across sites throughout London.

    Contract Details
    £270–£290 per day, depending on experience

    Proven experience working with fire alarm systems
    Experience carrying out fire alarm testing and PPM
    Experience testing and maintaining emergency lighting
    Good understanding of BS 5839 and BS 5266
    Strong fault-finding skills
    Previous service and maintenance experience
    Valid DBS or willingness to complete a new DBS check
    Relevant fire alarm/electrical qualifications or certifications
    Full UK driving licence
    Own tools, fire alarm testing equipment and suitable transport
    Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
